Dental Health Program

St. Mary’s Dental Program

This dental health program provides assistance for eligible children up to age 19 or pregnant women of any age. Comprehensive dental care is provided by local, participating dentists. Click here for more information.

Dental Sealants

As a preventive health initiative, the goal of the dental sealant program is to ensure that all children who need sealants get them. Services are provided through a grant from the Maryland Department of Health and Mental Hygiene Office of Oral Health. The Health Department partners with St. Mary’s County Public Schools to provide oral health screenings to students in select schools. Under this program, families are assisted in application of dental sealants. Health department staff visits these schools annually providing oral health education and screening.
