Environmental Health Division sanitarians offer a Basics in Safe Food Handling class twice a year. A daytime class scheduled in July and an evening class in December. This four hour class serves as an introduction to the principles of safe food handling and sanitation at sites or events that provide food to the public. It was originally intended as training for organizations and volunteers working at temporary food facilities and special events, but it is also useful as a refresher for workers at commercial food service facilities. Pre-registration and a fee required to attend.
The food safety program also serves as a reference for food service facilities and their patrons. Useful fact sheets and posters are listed below.
