Family Planning & Reproductive Health Program

St. Mary's County Health Department strives to reduce the number of unplanned pregnancies and sexually transmitted infections and to increase the overall reproductive health of county residents by offering a variety of health services for men and women.

Clinic for Teens

Effective immediately the Tuesday Teen Clinic will be by appointment only until further notice. Please call 301-475-4419 to make an appointment.

Teens are invited to visit this clinic on Tuesdays from 8:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. and 1:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. for family planning services and screening and/or treatment of sexually transmitted infections. Call 301-475-4419 for information or to schedule an appointment.

Fees: Fees for services are set on a sliding fee scale. No one will be denied services for inability to pay.


Sexually Transmitted Infections (STIs) and HIV Screening (No appointment required)

Screening and/or treatment for sexually transmitted infections (STIs) and HIV screening is provided for both men and women on Wednesdays from 8:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. and 1:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m.  Exams for men include testicular exams and discussion of birth control methods.

Fees: Services are without charge.


 Reproductive Health Clinic (Call 301-475-4419 to schedule an appointment)

Complete gynecological exams are available on Thursdays from 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. for women in preparation for birth control and maintenance of general good health. Colposcopy services are available as needed for follow-up to abnormal pap results.

The Reproductive Health Clinic provides information, education, treatment, and counseling to help people make the right contraceptive choice for them. Our goal is to provide each individual the freedom of choice to plan pregnancy in a way that is compatible with their life style and to reduce the occurrence of unplanned pregnancies.
