Sewer Overflow in Piney Point

LEONARDTOWN, MD (October 12, 2018) – The St. Mary’s County Metropolitan Commission is reporting a sanitary sewer overflow at the Piney Point Wastewater Pumping Station, located at 45271 Bloch Avenue, Piney Point, MD 20674. The sanitary sewer overflow is a result of heavy rains from Tropical Storm Michael.

Signs have been posted in the affected area and human contact with the tidal areas of the Potomac River near the Piney Point Wastewater Pumping Station should be avoided for ten days.
